The 19th Lowther Run
The Lowther Run (half marathon distance) is a rough road and cross
country course through the lovely and picturesque Haweswater Valley
and Lowther Castle Park.
Hound Show
Champions of each section will be presented in the Main Arena during
the Grand Parade of Hounds. All entries to be paraded in Grand Parade
in the Main Arena. All hunt staff are requested to show in uniform.
Ferret Show
Entry Fee : 75p per ferret – Entries taken on field from 9.30am (Limited
cages available)
Judging commences at 12.30pm PROMPT
Shepherds Crooks and Sticks
Each stick entered 75p – Entrants exhibiting 10 or more sticks will
receive free entry to the show. Entries close 26th July 2002
Farriery Competitions
Open to all Registered Farriers and Apprentices of Registered Farriers.
Especially suitable for those who normally travel with their equipment.

Mini-Beast Huting on the River Lowther
Ever wondered what all those creepy crawlies are that you find under
rocks in the river? Well here’s your chance to find out.

Crystal trophy given by the Lowther Committee and rosette for Best
Hen or Bantam Exhibit in Egg Section. Crystal trophy and rosette for
Best Waterfowl Exhibit Egg.
Dog Show, Dog Novelty and Jump for JoySun
Working Terrier Show
Once again a qualifier for the Countryside Alliance International
Terrier Championship.
Lurcher Show
Champion Lurcher chosen from the winners of classes 3 – 10 will receive
“The Greyhound”, a fine figurine kindly donated by Border
Fine Arts of Scotland, the reserve will receive a Crystal Goblet and
Rosette. All winners will receive a bag of dog food.

The Famous Grouse Fishing Event
Separate competitions Saturday and Sunday for Juniors and Senior Gentlemen.

Ladies and Wheelchair Anglers will be judged on the Best Performance over the two days.

Working Gundogs
This year we welcome back John and Sandra Halstead from Drakeshead Kennels.

Together they have been giving their marvellous gundog demonstrations at Lowther since the country fair began.

Countryside Exhibition
This is a working exhibition where the Exhibitors are willing to discuss
their activities. Exhibitors include:
